How do I charge customers based on their sign-up date (pro-rata)?

you can use pro-rata pricing to ensure customers are charged fairly based on when they sign up. This guide explains how pro-rata pricing works and how to set it up in your LoveAdmin account

What is Pro-Rata Pricing?

Pro-rata pricing adjusts the cost of a product or service based on the portion of the billing period that has passed. For example, if a customer joins halfway through a month, they will only be charged for the remaining half of the month.

 

If you are charging by the session, then a pro-rata pricing is not needed.

Enabling pro-rata pricing

 

Steps:

  • Navigate to Home > Settings > Products
  • Select the product from the left-side menu 
  • Expand the 'Billing and renewal' tab
  • Click the dropdown as shown below:




    • Memberships

      If a member joins your club in the middle of the month, they will be charged a membership fee that is calculated based on the time remaining in the subscription

       

    • Classes and Courses

       For classes that run on a schedule, new participants who join after the start date will pay a prorated fee based on the remaining number of sessions in that billing period
